CS223 Grading Policy

Spring 2013

1.      In order to take final exam,  a student must  have the  (MidtermGrade *0.5+Quiz Average*0.5)>50. Students who do not satisfy this condition will get FZ grade.

2.      Students who fail to attend at least 50% of the classes will receive a grade of FZ. 

3.      Students must not miss more than 2 lab sessions, or they will receive a grade of FZ.

4.      Students who meet the above requirements will have their numerical course average calculated with the following weights:

Homework     15%

Quizzes            15%

Labs                 15%

Midterm           25%

Final                 30%

           From the numerical average grades the students who meet the above two requirements,

Letter grades ranging from A+ to F will be determined in the usual way (taking into account overall performance and distribution of the scores,  class and lab participation and effort, as well as the attendance (in class and lab) of the student.
