| Start JCreator (as written on the handout) If a dialog box opens offering a number of File Associations Then Do the following: - Simply click Next (to accept the File Associations) - On the JDK Home Directory tab that appears, - click Browse and select C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.xx - click Finish When JCreator starts you should immediately, - Select the Config|Options menu - click on the Directories option & - next to the Default Project Directory only, click the ... - browse to your H:\private\cs101 folder & click OK, then Apply - click on the Workspace option, click the "+" to open the suboptions & - on the Start Up | At Start Up option, select the none option - click Apply - on Editor|Java, check "Show line numbers" and "Auto insert brackets" - click Apply - on JDK Profiles - select (highlight) the default jdk version & click "Edit" - select the "documentation" tab - & (if it is not set already) click "Add" - browse to the docs (usually on C:\Program Files\Java\jdk..., but in labs on P:/java/docs) - click OK, and OK and Apply again. - on JDKTools, - select "Run Application". Select the "Default" and click "Edit" - uncheck the "Capture output" and "Build and run" - and check the "Show command line" options & click OK. - select "Compiler". Select "Default" and click "Edit" - check the "Show command line" option & click OK. - click Apply, then OK, to exit the configuration dialog. - From the main menu, select "View" and select each of File, Class & Package Views in turn. |
