The purpose of this exercise is two-fold. First, to have you find information on a particular topic and second to examine the process of finding that information. Hopefully, by putting you in the position of an information user, where you have to go out and locate, collect, organise and present information, you will appreciate at first hand the requirements and difficulties of the task. Armed with this perspective, you will be better placed to design, implement and evaluate information systems.
