Course Description: This course will introduce some mobile and wireless networking and computing concepts, architectures, systems, protocols, and algorithms. Selected topics and papers will be presented and discussed.

Wireless communication fundamentals, radio propagation
Wireless MAC
Wireless/mobile routing
802.11
Ad hoc and sensor networks
Mesh networks
Some further selected topics (selected papers).

Course highlights:

No textbook will be used
Basides some core material, selected papers will be covered.
One or two projects (assignments) will be done in groups or individually.
Homeworks may be assigned.
Quizzes will be done.
Each student will read, summarize, and present one or two papers (paper(s) will be assigned by the instructor).
More focus will be on algorithms and models.
First part of the course will be presented by the instructor (2/3), second part by the students (1/3).

Grading Policy:

Midterm: 20%
Final: 28%
Quizzes: 12%
Paper summary and presentation: 10 %.
Projects (Assignments): 30%
