Jan 4: Quiz 2 grades are posted. Quiz 3 will not
be evaluated. 2 points of Quiz 3 is added to
midterm (1 point) and final (1 point).
Jan 4: You can see your final exam grades from the website of the
course.
Jan 4: You can see your final exam papers between 17:30 and 19:00
today (January 4, 2006). I may not be able to post the grades by that
time. Everybody is highly recommended to see her/his exam paper.
Dec 28: The midterm was out of 132. The grades listed
on the web site are not scaled to 100.
Dec 27: You can see the weights assigned to the quizzes and
exams in the website (grades section).
Dec 27: You can see you midterm exam paper between 17:30 and 18:30,
today (tuesday). I encourage everybody to see his/her exam paper. I
will also post the grades to the web by that time.
Dec 26: You will learn your midterm grades tomorrow. You will also
be able to see your papers at a time that will be announced
later.
Dec 25: All the remaining materials (lecture notes and papers) have
been put on the web site.
Dec 7: The final exam will be on December 29, 2005, at 10:00am. The
pace will be EA 502 (the room where we do the lectures).
Dec 1: The midterm exam will be comprehensive.
Dec 1: The midterm will be in room 502; the room
that we do the lectures. The exam will start at 10:00 am
in the morning; December 3, 2005, SATURDAY.
Dec 1: Please let me know if you encounter any mistakes in the
lecture slides. You can send me email about the mistake.
Nov 30: The midterm will be at 10:00 am in the morning, this Saturday,
Dec 3, 2005. I will announce the place later here.
Nov 30: To give more time to read papers, we did not do lecture
today.
Nov 25: The midterm will be on Saturday, Dec 3. The time and place will
be announced later. This should give you enough time to read, study,
digest and discuss all the papers and material about the course.
Nov 24: Lecture notes and papers are added to the internal section of
the course website. You have to read and study all the papers.
Nov 9: The midterm will be on November 30, 2005. The time will
be announced later.
Oct 27: We will not have CS-514 lectures on November 2, 2005, Wednesday. We
may have extra lectures after bayram if time and place would not be a problem.
Oct 11: You will soon receive a programming assignment. It may
be announced via the web page and email.
Oct 5: Next week, we will have a comprehensive quiz
covering all the subjects touched so far.
Sep 26: Quiz 1 grades are posted in the internal section.
Sep 22: We will have the quiz 2 next week wednesday. This quiz
will involve questions that require reading the material put
into the library.
Sep 20: The mandatory reading sections of the handout in the library
are included for the quiz. The ruls is valid for the other quizzes and
handouts as well, i.e. you are responsible from the mandatory reading
sections and documents, besides the slides.
Sep 19: Lecture notes are put on the internal web page of the course
web site. The related material is put into the library. We will have
a quiz this Wednesday, September 21, 2005.
Sep 16: The handouts are put into the "RESERVE" section of the
library. When you go there, provide my name to the librarian to
retrieve the CS 514 related material. Sorry that I could put the
material at 5:30 pm. In the handouts, I marked the sections as "M" or
"R". "M" stands for mandatory reading. You have to read and study
those sections. "R" stands for recommended reading. You can read and
benefit from those sections.
Sep 16: Today, by 5pm, I will put a handout (some sections fotocopied)
from a wireless book to the library. I will mark on the handout the
related sections that you HAVE TO read and study. You should start
reading immediately in order to be ready for the first quiz which can
be as early as next week, Wednesday.
Sep 15: This Friday (September 16), we will have the lecture at
9:40am. Starting next week, we will not have the Friday lectures.
Sep 15: You can report to me via email any typos that you encounter in
the lecture slides.
Sep 14: The weekly schedule of the course has
changed. We will have the Friday lectures on Wednesdays at 8:40
am.
