SSH Secure Shell is used to establish a connection between your PC and the Dijkstra machine. Below you can find all the details about how to install and use it.
1. Downlad the software from here or here.
2. Click next until it is installed.
3. Open the software by just clicking on the shortcut icon or finding it from where you have installed.
4. When it runs you will have a window like this:
5. For a quick connection to the Dijkstra machine just click on the Quick Connect button. A pop-up window will appear asking you for some information to connect to remote host. In this stage enter dijkstra.ug.bcc.bilkent.edu.tr as the host name and your user name I had sent you previously (I assume that you all have your id and password for login, if not send me an e-mail). Below you can find a simple window which was filled with my login information.
6. If your information is correct, just press on the Connect button and you are asked to enter your password (it is also in the e-mail sent by me). If you don't want to get a Connection Failure error, double check the host name and make sure it is dijkstra.ug.bcc.bilkent.edu.tr. Also enter your password carefully.
7. If your connection attempt is succesful, you will have access to the machine and see the following screen.
8. Now you are connected to the machine, you can transfer your class and header files from your PC to the Dijkstra machine for testing them in a Linux enviroment. For this purpose, open a New File Transfer Window by just clicking the yellow folder icon delineated with a red rectangle above. It will open the following window:
9. The files on the left are the local files on your computer, while the ones on the right are the files on your Dijkstra folder. Just find .cpp and .h files in your computer to upload, and put them on the machine by dragging. You may also open a New Folder for your files. Mine is res1.
10. Now you are ready to compile and run your codes. For it just return to the white window (the one opened when you have connected to the machine) and follow the instructions on this page.
