Microscopic Image Analysis Tool for Computer Aided Cancer Diagnosis S. Aksoy With the development of technology, image processing and image analysis have been used as a part of early diagnosis operation. In our project, we propose a computer-based solution to be used as the part of early cancer diagnose which would prevent the problems mentioned previously. The system will use the image analysis and processing techniques to detect the affected tissues. The specimen taken from tissues is observed with microscopes and images of this specimen are taken by the system. Image processing and analysis methods will be used to determine the stage of the cancer in addition to the classification of the affected tissues with specialized algorithms.

Bunchit F. Can A cluster engine that is capable of clustering and labelling top rated search results that comes from one of known search engines(Google Search, Yahoo Search). In addition to that we will develop a new clustering algorithm which will be doing such things in most efficient way compared to similar algorithms. Also, this application will include some extensions such as clustering users' email boxes and their favourite Youtube videos. In that way, users can use that application to simplify the internet usage in clustered way.

New Event Detection Based on Chronological Term Ranking F. Can Our project aims to create an efficient algorithm to detect eventes which comes from many news agents around the country and implement that algorithm so as to satisfy the end user's needs. We will use Chronological Term Ranking technique to support our algorithm development. This technique is based on a simple idea such that for a new event the most important information pieces are close to the beginning of the event text rather than the last lines of it.

T. Çapın Our project is to design and implement a web based real time strategy [RTS] game which can be played on Facebook interactively with other Facebook users using any browser. Our aim on this project is ti become a preferable game rather than other strategy games by using the techniques that the well-known games used. We present a game with good graphics, easy gameplay, useful interfaces and some innovations that keep users more interactive and give much more importance to diplomacy with other players. In our game, people can have communication with other playe rs and form groups to play together.

Optics Game D. Davenport Optics game consists of fixed number of levels. Difficulty of the game increases depending on the levels. When player comes to the further levels, puzzles will be harder than before. In every level, player needs to solve a puzzle with optical items such as mirrors, lenses and prisms. In every level, light enters into the 2D map belong to the level from one point and player need to place optical items into map appropriately in order to make light get out of the map from the point decided for that level. Player expected to be addicted to puzzles and could not give up the game until solving all puzzles. This addiction will also be educational for player because he will start to learn physics laws on optics topic through this game. Therefore, addiction will be a wrong word choice or we can call it sweat addiction.

Zebrafish segmentation for high-throughput analysis Ç. G.Demir Zebrafish is vertebrate and its embryos have short development process and they can be kept alive in laboratory conditions for weeks. they are used as model organism for high-throughput microscopic imaging.  In these experiments, high-throughput analysis results in huge number of images. These images come along with problems for researchers; segmentation of the embryos and analyzing all this data efficiently.Since the amount of data produced is too high, the problem arises. To cope with this problem, we will develop an algorithm that automatically makes the segmentation of the samples. Biological parts of the embryo (head, tail, yolk sac, trunk, etc.) will be separated.

Cancerious: An image annotation tool for histopathological image retrieval Ç. G.Demir Our project will mainly work on set of images and select similar ones by using reasoned algorithms. It will do selection by picking a image from set and then will bring closely images with their similarity ratings from the image set. Project will provide user friendly tool for doctors to enable getting medical results smoothly and swiftly.

Textural Property Analyzer for Histopathological Images Ç. G.Demir Cancer is one of the most important diseases all over the world. There are lots of people suffering from cancer. On the other hand, some of these people can be treated with the help of early diagnosis. In the current practice of medicine, Histopathological examination is the routinely used method for the diagnosis. Histopathology is the microscopic examination of biopsies for the diagnosis of many diseases including cancer. It is crucial to make this examination accurately. Therefore, computer aided systems become important by the means of reducing human errors. For these reasons, our project offers a computer-based diagnosis system. The system that we propose is a textural property analyzer for biopsy images. In this project, we are going to design and implement a tool for the purpose of combining the computer technology and the medical area, which will be helpful to pathologists. The tool extracts different kinds of textural features from subimages and classifies the images according to the extracted features.

Online Turkish Product Reviews H. Ferhatosmanoğlu Our project will aggregate and analyze online critics for popular products. We will generate a warehouse of reviews written in Turkish. The data will be  continuously extracted from online sources. We will then build a tool to produce and visualize reports about the product. Our current focus is on social media sites such as twitter.com, and review sites such as sikayetvar.com and sikayetim.com. This project can serve as an interface for machine learning tools and provide Turkish data sets ready for analysis.

Coffee Fortune Teller H. A. Güvenir The project, coffee fortune teller, is intended to tell the coffee fortune as it is understood from its name. It is an application which works on smart phones that use android as operating system. When the user runs the application, camera of the phone is automatically turned on in order to take photos of coffee cup. If the photo is not in good condition to process, the user needs to take photo again. After getting a photo in good condition the application start to process the photo. The processing period contains searching the taken photo with the photos which are initially in the database. When the best match is founded the corresponding comment is showed on the screen.

CRM for Medicine Representatives H. A. Güvenir CRM systems are widely used in nearly all business areas since there is a client for each business area. We intend to design our CRM to solve the business problems within the scope of health industry. Our CRM system allows users to show the products of the company, ease them to sell products, describe the potential customers for future reference. Together with that, it provides a better interface for communication via instant messaging service and notification sender. It also utilizes executives in the means of customer satisfaction via tagging between representatives, products and customers. Statistical data about customers and products will also be sent to relevant people who use that system.

Fish Modeling B. Özgüç Realistic body motions of creatures have always been challenging and famous topics for the computer generated animations. Our project, Fish Modeling, will present this dynamics at computer generated fishes. Fish Modeling aims to produce realistic motion of fishes and inspecting fishes’ movements in large groups. Fishes will be modeled in detail and textured in aesthetic way. In order to achieve realism in movements of the fish, movement will be based on mathematical formulas and physical laws.
