chk_DNA	C. Alkan	Chk-DNA is a multi platform desktop application that analyzes files in a format called VCF (Variant Call Format) that contain genetic variation an individual compared to the reference genome. After parsing the file, annotation of these genetic variants such as their relation to known phenotypes,   prediction of their effects in gene expression and regulation, and drug-gene interactions are displayed. Furthermore haplogroup analysis  is performed to infer ancestry. The purpose of this project is to integrate various kinds of genetic information analyses into a single program. In addition, the smoothness of the user interface will improve the ease of use. It also generates a report of the results at the end of the analysis.

Social RSS	F. Can	Our mobile Social RSS system SoRSS aims to simplify tracking of information flow coming from multiple social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and Instagram. It enables users to easily follow diverse notifications coming from different networks in an organized manner by filtering and grouping them according to users’ own dynamic choices. SoRSS is the eventual step of personalization in social network tracking. By using our system, user can be recognized by social network and can get personal notifications totally.

Pingture	T. Çapın	People love to document group activities like night-outs, parties and trips. They take many photos and are often eager to see what other group members capture. It is hard to keep all photos taken by different individuals of the same activity, in one place, since each photo can exist in different albums or even on different platforms. Pingture solves this problem by creating shared space, called Pingbook, for a group to record activities together. All the photos and notes taken by each group member during the activity, is shared with all through the Pingbook.

Puppet Dancing	T. Çapın	Puppet Dancing is a mobile and tablet children’s game for iOS platform. Our aim is to avoid confusing the children with complex user interfaces, instructions and texts. There will be no menu or text. Puppet will be waiting on the screen for touch gestures to start dancing! Currently, there are four different songs, four different dance sets assigned to these songs with respect to their relevance to the song lyrics. While the song is playing, we welcome our players to find out the gestures on the screen experimentally to catch up with the song.

AnimeTales (Animated Storytelling with Voice Recognition)	T. Çapın	AnimeTales is a storytelling simulation, controlled with human voice, where the ongoing events in a story is visualized and animated on screen. The main purpose of the system is to provide an enjoyable and creative application to support children between age 5 and 10, who are in the development stage of learning a new language, whether it’s their mother language or foreign language. Children can use it to create stories of their own with words they have learned recently or to tell their stories to friends in a visual way. Just tell the words and let AnimeTales create the tale for you.

Surface for Teachers	T. Çapın	The  senior  design  project  is  software  that  helps  teachers  to  create  such applications   for   students   in   age   range   (4-­‐9)   in   Samsung   SUR40 PixelSense  device  with  Microsoft  Surface.  The  application  prototype aims  to  teach  the  lessons  visually  in  collaborative  teams.  Therefore, students or kids learn and try together. Since schools are trying to apply some  technologies  in  schools,  none  of  them  are  about  increasing collaborative  work.  In  this  device,  4-­‐5  students  or  kids  work,  solve matching examples, and learn together.  There  are  several  application  prototypes,  teachers  will  insert  desired pictures or text and select the desired template, change its headings and match the pictures. Application is ready to use by students.     In   one   template,   teachers   insert   listening   text   audio   and   relevant pictures  to  it  into  appropriate  parts  of  the  template.  After  students listen to the audio, students will match the pictures together according to  what they heard. Another template is photo matching; they match photos according to a string such as seasons and their pictures. Also, the software has a puzzle template, which provides different puzzle pieces, to  improve kids’ or students’ concentration and IQ level. Moreover, we add  a  template  of  fill-­‐in-­‐the-­‐blanks  that  aims  to  help  students  for learning how to make sentences with the correct grammar rules.   As  a  group  we  planned,  designed,  and  implemented  our  senior  project and tested it  on  both simulator that is  provided by  Microsoft Input Simulator and the real Samsung SUR40 PixelSense device. The related database   part   was   implemented  and   designed   with   MSSQL   and Microsoft Management Studio tool.

Dobuu	P. Duygulu Şahin	Dobuu is a social networking web and mobile application that allows users to rate restaurants on specific attributes such as food quality, service, ambiance and cost. As aim of the project to provide objective ranking of restaurants, dobuu includes both expert and regular users. Dobuu will also let restaurant owners to keep track of their place, while application creates discount coupon chains between places (restaurants, shops etc.) which pleases both owners and customers.

Where To Go	P. Duygulu Şahin	Programs that find locations are commonly used as they provide time and energy save. Where To Go, leads its users to a free space in the target area. According to this purpose, Where To Go gives the numerical values of the crowd in the target location. Camera views and image processing algorithms are used to keep the track of the human action and detecting the free spaces. The status of the each specified space in the target area are followed. Where To Go, is useful for finding a free space easily without losing energy and time.

BilTaxi	H. Ferhatosmanoğlu	BilTaxi is an Android application for Bilkent users to get or share a taxi anywhere anytime easily. If the users are unfamiliar with the address of their location, they can request a taxi just with a tap using BilTaxi. App locates the current location of the user and sends a request to the taxi center. Then, the app informs the user about the incoming taxi (e.g  plate number). BilTaxi also helps users to precalculate the taxi cost for their selected journey route on map so they can guess the estimated cost. People can share their reservations with BilTaxi community and others can join that reservation and share the taxi cost.

Dress Me Up	H. Ferhatosmanoğlu	Choosing the right set of clothes that match nicely and make us look better is a fun challenge that most of us face every day. We designed a social web-site, Dress Me Up (DMU), for people to mix and match, and share their clothing combinations. In DMU, users have their own closets where they can upload their clothes. They can share their clothes and combinations with their friends and can spread their own fashion. We also developed a “Fashion Generator” for DMU users, which recommends nice clothing combinations using the user’s own uploaded clothes.

QUICKSELL	B. Gedik	QuickSell domain name is not available; therefore we changed our project name to TezSatıla to be compatible with our domain name. Currently, we are designing database part of our project and it a complex part of our project since we have various categories in TezSatila such as computer, mobile phone, and clothing etc. In each category we will have various attributes which are need to be kept in a separate table in database. Except from database, with our adviser’s acknowledge we decided to create a webpage by using HTML, PHP and JavaScript. We plan to embed our project to mobile operating system with PhoneGap which helps developers to easily create apps using the web technologies we know HTML, CSS and JavaScript.   PhoneGap is a free and open source framework that allows you to create mobile apps using standardized web APIs for the platforms you care about. The advantages of PhoneGap are that our webpage works almost a native app in those mobile operating systems which save our time to implement both apps for Android and iOS. We are using CodeIgniter which is an agile and open PHP web application framework with a small footprint. Furthermore we embed Twitter Bootstrap into CodeIgniter framework to make our webpages userfriendly. Bootstrap is a sleek, intuitive, and powerful front-end framework for faster and easier web development. Finally, we work hard to meet all the requirements of our project explained in project specification report, we hope it will be a qualified senior project.

Chemistery	U. Güdükbay	Chemistery is a tool for representing atoms, molecules and molecular reactions in 3D.  The motivation behind Chemistery is to teach Chemistry to high school students by providing an approach to visualize atoms and models which are considered as abstract subjects. Hence, the system provides better understanding regarding atom models, their chemical bonds and reactions. The next step of the project after completion is to develop the system towards organic chemistry.  The system is implemented using C++ and its OpenGL library.

Recommended events which the users are likely to be interested in, are based on the musical interests of its users and events in their event attendance history. Its smart event suggestion engine makes use of artists, and events that are similar to the ones which Stageous users have previously interacted with via our system. Users of Stageous will enjoy having fast access to a wide musical event database and its variety of functions including social media sharing.

People use videos from learning new stuff to impress their emotions in a large variety. The problem with video categorization in general is the restriction of keywords. People try to categorize or classify videos with predefined keywords which is may not be the best way to deal with huge number of videos or video libraries. Stagaudio aims self-categorization rather than a burden of predefined keywords.

Project Epsilon - Human Uprising	B. Özgüç	In a world where artificial intelligence is about to dominate against human race and bunch of people makes their last stand, a special forces agent Ragna Bishamon, a mutant, is sent to reach and stop this plot in order to free humankind. Our game is a mixture of action, which would be in third person shooter type, and hacking simulation. The main character Ragna uses weapons to neutralize robots then diffuse them. This defuse is done by drawing runes by using Microsoft Kinect. Also all the actions done by weapons (aiming, shooting and moving,etc) use Nintendo Wiimote and Microsoft Kinect; therefore, there will be no need for keyboard and mouse, instead all the gaming would be done by the player’s body efforts. At the end of levels, there exists a terminal connected to a door to be hacked. Where the player reaches here, a decent hacking simulation game comes up. This simulation aims to challenges the player for solving problems using a command window, programming languages or simple programming like questions. The player has to obtain a password and enter it to open the door. After the door a boss shows up and the player fights a rough battle to finish the level.

Vendors can publish commercials and directly reach customers, who are exposed to commercials they wish to see. Establishing a bridge between two ends of advertisement, PoacherPortal aims to bring a new perspective to online advertisement.

EGOguide	Ö. Öztürk	People continuously struggle with determination to ease their lives or improve quality of their lives. In recent years, especially developing technology has facilitated people’s life. Most of people no longer have a smart phone or similar technological devices such as tablets. People who have such devices mostly keep these devices with them everywhere. Such devices help people a lot in their social life most of the time. “EGOguide” is a simple android phone application for Ankara, city of Turkey. This is designed to find a solution for a question: how a person could go where he wants to go by using public transportation in Ankara. In other words, the system helps to find a route for the target address. It also gives you information such as the number of buses or subway, addresses of bus stations or subway stations and it gives you your current location and approximate distance between departure and arrival points. Besides, the system informs you about time of buses and subway. In addition to this, it helps you to find a simplest or alternative route to go from departure point to arrival point on foot. Generally, this is a magical city transportation guide system. If you don’t know addresses of bus and subway stations, time of them, ID’s of them and general addresses of the city, the application is the most important assistant for you. The project is economic because it takes advantage of the existing technology which is named as “Android”. Although Android is a new created technology, it has been used widespread. Most of the smart phones prefer and apply Android technology. Because of this, the people who have an Android smart phone are able to use Egoguide application. The system is portable and can be reused for any city but in this project, the system is designed for only Ankara city and for people who have an Android smart phone or similar devices which have Android operating system. The project is a social project because it has a purpose which helps people who don’t know any information or have confused about Ankara public transportation. It is served as a guide of public transportation of Ankara city.

In this project, we attempted to fill this gap by providing an online water order service. Consumers can order water, rate or leave comments about the quality of the service, comparing the quality and the prices of the service in their household; the suppliers can register and announce their products.

As its name emphasizes, it provides an easy, quick and reliable way to find taxis to its customers. Once the program is loaded onto smart phone, without paying any extra money, from anywhere, at any time one can call taxi. Each customer will be provided with a list of nearest taxi stations and their ratings. Besides customers, taxi stations will benefit from Taksi Burada, since it will help them to find more customers and will end illegal taxis.

Ambulance & Emergency Service Coordination System	B. Tekinerdoğan	Ambulance&Emergency Service Coordinator works as a guide for patients and emergency services by providing a communication channel between ambulances and hospitals, therefore when an emergency case occurs it fulfills the current lack of information by showing location of nearby hospitals, density & availability of their emergency services and their equipment . According to the system results, health care team in the ambulance will be able to make their decisions without waste of time and effort.

Nossaq	Ö. Ulusoy	Personal Assistant application helps people in order to organize their life. It helps people with time and daily management, scheduling of meetings and correspondence. In our age, people’s life is getting more complex. On the one side, they have to struggle with their business life to earn their money and at the same time they have to live their personal life; they have to be social in order to stay happy and healthy. Therefore, having a good balanced life is crucial for modern people. People have to manage their life schedules very well and at this point, using a personal assistant application can be very helpful. Nossaq’s aim is to recommend user to fill leisure times by recommending a work to do or an entertainment. Program decides these recommendations by getting the user’s schedule and to do list. Respecting the priority of these to do list elements, application assigns these jobs to appropriate times. Moreover in the remaining times, program may assign activities as movies, concerts and etc. depending on user’s personal interests. It also provides suggested cinemas, cafes, bars, restaurants etc. according to event type and special discounts. If the users pick event locations from one of the suggestions, they can benefit from special discounts that provided by the Nossaq. The innovative aspect of Nossaq is its ability to choose the best timing slots to assign some works to do. The user only needs to input its upcoming works to do with their due dates and some additional information. Nossaq automatically places these works to some timing slots that are decided automatically. The aim of the program is to balance each day’s work load and manage the time according to the user’s desires. Nossaq is able to partition the works (if it is dividable) into number of parts in order to use the time more efficiently. In conclusion, Nossaq aims to be the social calendar of organized people who wants to use its time efficiently. Nossaq serves to the people who needs time and has lot to do in this restricted time. It is more a personal assistant than a calendar application.

Referbase	Ö. Ulusoy	The business idea that is based on production of computer software is a project which is designed as “Creating Employment System” in Turkey at present. The Project is a management architecture which is optimizing the process of sited the people to the related area of employment according to their abilities and behaviors as being contemporary, dynamic and quick. At the present time, the method which is used for searching human resources is insufficient and it involves solely personal background details based on CV. This method does not offer an option that examines the human resources based on abilities and behaviors. By this designed creating employment project, the operation of abilities and behaviors examination brings into active position consistently. In the course of time, intended case can be observed as being supported by database. When the number of qualified workers and their abilities are taken into consideration   this business idea is brought forward. When the applications in the developed countries are examined, it can be easily seen delivering service on a large scale as concerning this matter. Ability and quality oriented public evaluation is highly important in usage of human resources in the relevant field, in an effective manner. In this connection,  by the revision of the acquired information by feedbacks, new area of employment can  be created in accordance with the ability and the interest of field.  Based upon  this idea, the main purpose of the system is serving statistical data to the public and employment branches by updating the abilities and behaviours information of the people who login to the system, providing  opportunity tocreating additional area of employment and  human-resource planning in government or private sector.

AcilKan	H. Ferhatosmanoğlu	In the social media, we everyday see the blood need announcements very frequently. AcilKan is an application that simplifies this process. The people who need blood will be able to make an announcement using the application, and the other users who are close to the hospital will be informed by a notification, if their blood type are matching with the patient. In addition to this, the users who want to donate blood will be able to see the closest point they can donate blood. AcilKan will be an Android application and will be integrated to Twitter to search tweets with that purpose automatically.

The main purpose of the application is enabling families to control their children that are abroad or out of the city for sightseeing, whenever they want.The difference of this application from the others is informing the family with the help of message when child deletes the application from his/her phone.Therefore, family will be able to take  some precautions thanks to this helpful feature. In addition to this, family will be able to specify some coordinates on web site and an information message will be send when their children are out of the coordinates.
