The convergence of IT and CE is reshaping the whole industry. Products from both IT and CE industries are racing to be the main digital device in the lounge room. IT devices are evolving to be easier to use with technologies such as Universal Plug and Play. CE devices are, on the other hand, starting to offer more advanced functionalities. Networked TV project going on at VESTEL is the first step to realize the connected home vision of the company. The end product of this project is going to be a TV where you access audio video content on your PC with almost no configuration. As being the member of DLNA ( Digital Living Networked Alliance), VESTEL designed its networked TV product to be compliant with the standards prescribed in the DLNA.s design guideline document. In this talk, we will first cover the hardware architecture of the Ethernet and WiFi connected TV and then network stack, media transport, device discovery and control, media management and media formats standards suggested by DLNA. A quick demo will follow the talk.
