Our aim in this work is to compute saliency values of 3D animated models, which provides the knowledge of the perceptually important parts on the models. Saliency is a property of objects or areas that defines how different or outstanding they are according to their neighbours. In other words, the parts that are likely to get more attention are more salient. We extend the current saliency calculations that are performed on static meshes to animated meshes, also considering the effect of motion on saliency. These saliency calculations can be used for different purposes in computer graphics such as perceptually better mesh simplification or controlling the attended points in a 3D scene.
