Developing effective techniques for editing 3D meshes and creating simple animations constitute an important topic in computer graphics. In this work, we present an interactive and easy-to-use editing system for this purpose targeted for novice users. The users interact with the system by selecting one or more handles on the mesh and moving those handles as they desire to manipulate meshes and create animations. A differential representation scheme is used to preserve local details on the mesh. The system proposed is designed for multi-touch environments. Therefore, users can operate on meshes directly by touching the screen at multiple places. This creates a realistic metaphor making the deformation process more intuitive for inexperienced users.
