Real-time Rendering and Animation of Fur

Most of the animals have a fur covered above their skin, but when this is modeled in computer games the fur part is omitted or just a texture representing that area is mapped, but this does not create realistically good looking models. This paper evaluates the current fur techniques and extends the capabilities of real-time fur technique such as animation. To increase the reality of the fur, Kajiya-Kay fur rendering technique is implemented, also self-shadowing and stripes to increase the reality.
