Distributed simulation system is a noble approach to integrate separate components of simulation model into a single simulation model. However a single simulation cannot satisfy all the needs of all the users. Hence some different architectural approaches have been developed to establish a common development and execution architecture in order to facilitate the interoperability of all types of models and simulations. These approaches contain differences as well as common properties. We explore the architectural mappings between some distributed simulation systems like HLA and DDS by showing each approach in terms of architectural view-points and ultimately a single comparison on Publish/Subscribe which is a paradigm for achieving in these widely distributed architectures will be done using feature model analysis.By using this analysis, particularly, their respective benefits and shortcomings will be discussed with respect to interfaces.

Keywords: simulation, interoperability, HLA, DDS, Publish/Subscribe
