Deceit Detection in Videos Using Facial Expressions

Lies are a common problem that we encounter frequently in our daily lives. Deceiving someone can be an easy deal, considering humans are quite bad at detecting deceit with an accuracy of 54% according to the studies conducted by Bond et al. Deception is also a matter in more serious scenarios such as courtroom trials. Concerning what potential mistakes in judgment can result in such high-stakes scenarios, an intelligent deceit detection system can indeed become an indispensable application, especially in such certain kinds of areas including court trials or in any scenario that reliability is an essential factor.
