Welcome back everyone. We start the new semester with an introduction for newcomers and experts alike.

A superb video introduction to the field of artificial intelligence. Traces the successes and failures of attempts to create intelligent machines, starting from the pioneering work of Alan Turing, through to recent work on CYC. The video includes interviews with many of the people who have shaped research in the field, including Minsky, Dreyfus, Feigenbaum and Lenat.
