"Computationalism & Related Ideas"

the discussion continues...

led by
David Davenport
(& friends!)

Nearly three hours of fascinating discussion, meant that last week's seminar never quite finished! This week we will begin with a quick review of the plot so far, then set forth on our journey once again. No one knows where we might end up, but hopefully the voyage will be an enjoyable one. Along the way, we expect to return once again to themes from seminars earlier this semester, which examined Searle's arguments against AI (his Chinese Room thought experiment and his view that syntax is not intrinsic to physics), and the difficult question of categorisation.
