Textbook and Reading Material
There is no mandatory textbook for the course. We will follow papers
and sections from several books. The papers and handouts about
sections will be provided. More information about them can be found in
the internal section of the course website.
Grading Policy
- Quizzes: 15 %
- Homeworks(*): 15 %
- Projects: 25 %
- Midterm: 20 %
- Final: 25 %
(*) Depending on the number of homeworks, the
weight of the homeworks may be reduced and distributed to other items.
Homeworks
- Homeworks may be assigned. The number of homeworks is not clear yet.
Quizzes
- Pop-up quizzes will be performed quite frequently.
Projects
Projects will be assigned to groups of students. The projects will be mostly
implementation oriented related to ad hoc networks and applications, and sensor
networks and applications. More information about projects will be posted later.
Midterm Exam
- There will be one midterm exam.
Final Exam
- There will be one final exam
Make-up Exam
- Makeup exam may be given for students that have extra-ordinary conditions.
But the make-up exam will be hard.

- Wireless Network Technologies: Bluetooth and 802.11
- Ad Hoc Networks
- Sensor Networks
We will not follow a specific book in this course. But there are
several good books that can be utilized and consulted for some of the
topics that we will cover in this course, for learning general
networking concepts, and for projects that will be done as part of the
course. Therefore I would like to list some books
which you can consult when you need.
