Grading Criteria

IMPORTANT DATES:

Feb 15-Feb 27 Preparation Phase

·         February 27: Group Contact Report due

Feb 27-March 15+ Design Phase

·         March 7: Preliminary Design Report due

·         March 13: Design Review and Peer Grading Reports and Team Progress Report #1 due

March 15+ - March 21+ Implementation Phase

·         March 21: Complete Design Report and Team Progress Report #2 due

March 21-26 Testing and Debugging phase Tips for Testing

·         March 26/27/28: Project Code Demos

·         March 26/27/28: Individual Project Evaluation Report due (Team Progress Report #3 not required, but note changes to Project Evaluation Report)

The Group Project grade (0% to 100%) will be determined by the following factors:

·         Preliminary Design Report (25%)

·         Design Review and Peer Grading Reports (25%)

·         Code quality and accuracy (50%)

The Participation grade (0% to 100%) will be determined by the following factors:

·         Group Contact Report (conformance to specification)

·         Complete Design Report (conformance to specification)

·         Participation in each phase (measured by the Team Progress Reports)

·         Individual Project Evaluation Report

·         Peer grading

Grade Calculation: The Group Project grade is received by all members of the group. The Participation factor grade is given to each member of the group, individually. The individual student's grade for Project #1 will be the product of the group's project grade and their personal participation grade. For example, a student whose group project grade was 90, and whose personal participation grade is 80%, will receive a score of 90 x 0.8 = 72 for Project #1.
